Fancy those laced up strappy shoes everyone has been sporting lately? Well you don’t have to spend so much just to reward yourself a new pair when you can create your own!
Here’s what you’ll need:
*Pair of shoes
I was sorting through my shoe cabinet the other day, and found so many flats that I rarely use. So I thought of revamping them. I bought the cords at a textile store at SM Megamall for only P3.50 pesos per yard. For this tutorial, I used 2 yards each shoe. But since you’re creating your own, you can have it as long or as short as you want.
Mark the shoes for the holes. Make sure to strategically place the holes, because it will determine how big or small the “crisscross” pattern of your cord strings will appear.
Punch away! I’m using a multipurpose hole puncher I bought at a hardware store. You can also use a hammer and a nail, cutter or scissors for making the holes.
The fun part! Squeeze out those creative juices and insert your cords into the holes. You can always string them differently, braid them, put beads in between or try a different color instead of a matchy matchy one. The possibilities are endless!
